Alexander Patsalias

Alexander Patsalias is an ERN ReCONNET ePAG representative for IgG4-related disease (IgG4).

Within ERN ReCONNET, Alexander Patsalias actively contributes to patient engagement efforts, including co-creating patient-centered tools, supporting awareness campaigns, and participating in working groups focused on improving diagnosis, care, and quality of life for patients with IgG4.

He serves as a patient advocate for IgG4-related disease at Erasmus MC and is starting a European Patient Federation, including current and past roles helping create awareness and working to amplify patient voices and improve collaboration between patients, researchers, and clinicians.

In addition to these roles, Alexander has also been involved in several cross-border patient initiatives organized by other European and national patient organizations, aiming to raise awareness, improve access to care, and advocate for research in IgG4.

Professionally, Alexander has a background in strategic sales management, change management, and relationship management (Segment specialities: Credit management, Energy) combines this expertise with lived experience to bridge the gap between patients and professionals.

On a personal level, Alexander is committed to empowering IgG4 communities and believes in the strength of collaboration and shared knowledge.

Being part of ERN ReCONNET has allowed Alexander to contribute directly to help. Looking ahead, he hopes to further strengthen cross-country collaboration and ensure that all patients with IgG4 across Europe receive timely, equitable, and expert care.
