Jose Ballarin Castan
Jose Ballarin Castan is an ERN ReCONNET ePAG representative for IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD).
He is a patient representative for IgG4 RD in his patient organization, the Spanish Federation For Rare Diseases (FEDER) and a member of its scientific committee.
He received a degree in medicine in France. He was a consultant nephrologist at a University Hospital and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). He retired after being diagnosed with IgG4-RD in 2019.
Working from inside the ERNs, we can decrease the inequalities in treating patients with RD all over Europe. We can also improve patients’ awareness of their disease and its treatment.
