ERN ReCONNET National Hubs
Strengthening the Network Across Europe
The ERN ReCONNET National Hubs represent an important step toward integrating the network into national healthcare systems across Europe.
What Are ERN ReCONNET National Hubs?
ERN ReCONNET National Hubs represent the network at the national level and act as reference points for stakeholders involved in the care of patients with rare and complex connective tissue diseases.
Originally developed in the context of the Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS), the National Hubs are now evolving into broader institutional entities.
Through this evolution, National Hubs help connect European clinical excellence with national and local realities, ensuring that expertise and resources are accessible throughout the healthcare system.
Key Objectives
The National Hubs pursue several strategic objectives aimed at strengthening the impact of ERN ReCONNET:
- Strengthen the visibility and impact of ERN ReCONNET at national level
- Facilitate collaboration between healthcare providers, patient organisations, and national authorities
- Support the integration of ERNs into national health systems
- Contribute to equitable access to care and expertise for patients with rare connective tissue diseases across Europe
National Representation and Integration
National Hubs represent ERN ReCONNET within their country and act as reference points for national stakeholders, including:
- scientific and professional societies
- national competent authorities (e.g. Ministries of Health)
- healthcare providers and clinical centres

The Hubs promote the integration of ERN ReCONNET within national healthcare systems by informing, involving and collaborating with different stakeholders.
