ERN ReCONNET UCTD Disease Group 2025 update
The Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease (UCTD) Disease Group is pleased to welcome Chiara Tani, who, alongside Cristina Pamfil and ePAG Ramona Luciu, joins the coordination of the activities carried out by the UCTD Disease Group of ERN ReCONNET.
Thanks to the valuable contributions of all participants, previously launched activities have been realized, and new milestones have been reached. The definition of disease variables to be included in the TogethERN ReCONNET Registry was concluded with the delivery of the data set. In parallel, the preparation of the informative brochure for patients on how to prepare for a rheumatological visit, titled “How to prepare for a doctor’s visit”, was finalized and distributed, providing a practical tool to improve the doctor-patient interaction. The group also made its valuable contribution by constructing an entire UCTD didactic module for the accredited ERN ReCONNET online course.
The group has maintained a high level of educational commitment by holding webinars. One such webinar, which focused on vaccination in UCTD patients, took place on 5 November 2025. It was chaired by Luca Iaccarino and Cristina Pamfil. Another webinar, focusing on pregnancy in UCTD patients, took place on 24 September 2025. Luca Iaccarino also chaired this webinar. Finally, the creation of an “expert consensus” on the diagnosis of UCTD is actively continuing. In parallel, discussions on potential Red Flags for the diagnosis, including early diagnosis, of UCTD are being deepened, which are fundamental elements for standardizing the clinical approach.
The UCTD Disease Group thus continues to consolidate its mission, providing essential resources for clinical training and improving the knowledge and care of this complex pathology.
