ERN ReCONNET renews its appointment with the illumination of the Leaning Tower of Pisa on the occasion of World Rare Disease Day to raise awareness and generate change for the 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease, their families and carers.
As was the case in 2020 and 2021, on Monday 28 February from 18.30 to 23.00 the colours and logo of Rare Disease Day will be projected on the Tower. This event is part of a series of initiatives around the world that literally turn the lights on rare diseases, made possible thanks to the willingness and interest of the Archbishop of Pisa Monsignor Giovanni Paolo Benotto and the Opera Primaziale.
It is also a way to turn the spotlight on ERN ReCONNET members’ commitment to patients and its acknowledged excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases.
