ERN ReCONNET Endorsed Event: 1st Myositis Summer School of the Myositis Network Germany

 In News

On August 9 and 10, 2024, the first Myositis Summer School of the Myositis Network Germany, endorsed by the ERN ReCONNET, took place at the Kerckhoff Campus of the JLU Gießen in Bad Nauheim. This summer school was made possible by the generous support of the Gabriele and Peter Nitschke Foundation.
It offered intensive theoretical and practical knowledge for the treatment of myositis patients and brought together leading experts and interested colleagues from myositis centers throughout Germany.

In addition to detailed presentations on diagnostics and therapy as well as the latest national and international guidelines and therapy recommendations, specific therapeutic approaches for organ involvement or neoplasms were also discussed. Numerous lectures and case discussions, which were enriched by lively interactions, offered intensive insights into the state-of-the-art management of myositids over two days. The organizers Prof. Jens Schmidt, Prof. Anne Schänzer, Mrs. Schlüter of the Myositis Netz and the speakers agreed that this Summer School should definitely be repeated in 2025, as summed up Prof. Dr. Ulf Müller-Ladner, chair of the symposium and Director of the Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology.

Prof. Mueller – Ladner and participants kindly recorded some video messages in German to share their opinions on this important Summer School; the recordings are freely available on a dedicated Playlist on our official YouTube Channel.

Here are some group pics of the participants attending the event.

The program is still available for consultation:
