Since 2017 the Belgian national hub has fostered adaptation of ReCONNET on national Belgium level.

In this way prof V Smith had accepted the role to chair the Flemish network on rare diseases, a multidisciplinary governmental network inclusive to all stakeholders dealing with rare diseases and adopting clinical practice guidelines.

In this way, non-exhaustively, the systemic sclerosis patient pathway has been adopted from European level to national level (Piette Y, Van den Bossche F, Aerts J. Flemish network on rare connective tissue diseases (CTD): patient pathway in systemic sclerosis.

First step taken. Acta Clin. Belg. 2024 Feb;79(1):26-33.). Also education, training and dissemination activities have been adopted from ReCONNET.

In this way, the clinical patient management system has been made accessible to discuss questions concerning rare connective tissue diseases or execute multidisciplnary meeting.
