In this Webinar the Raynaud’s phenomenon (definition, its prevalence, primary and secondary Raynaud’s phenomenon, how to distinguish a primary from a secondary Raynaud’s phenomenon, role of nailfold capillaroscopy in distinguishing the most prevalent cause of secondary Raynauds phenomenon in rare connective tissue diseases, treatment and examples of vasomotoric reactions) will be discussed interactively with the attendants.
Vanessa Smith is associate professor of Rheumatology at UGent since 2014. She has acquired expertise in systemic diseases and leads the Systemic Sclerosis unit. She is a member of several (inter)national scientific associations and consortia. Since 2016, she has been a member of the steering committee of the ERN ReCONNET, and the junior coordinator of the ERN ReCONNET subnetwork for Systemic Sclerosis. Since 2018, Prof. Dr. Smith has been chairman of the Flemish Network on Rare Connective Tissue and Musculoskeletal Diseases (Cabinet of Welfare, Public Health and Family). Prof. Smith currently holds a position as Senior Clinical Investigator within the Flemish Fund for Scientific Research and is chairman of the EULAR study group on microcirculation in Rheumatic Diseases.
