The webinar will provide an overview on what Clinical Practice Guidelines are and on how they are developed, integrating the perspective of a patient representative and of a methodologist. The webinar is designed to be followed by patients, families and caregivers belonging to all rare diseases area, but everyone is welcome to participate and ask questions.
Ilaria Galetti has been diagnosed with Systemic Sclerosis about 25 years ago and since then she has been active in patients’ organisations as volunteer, advocating for rare diseases patients at national and European level. She is currently the Vice President of the European Federation for Systemic Sclerosis (FESCA) and of the Italian Association for Systemic Sclerosis (GILS). Since 2017, Ilaria is an ePAG Representative in ERN ReCONNET and an Alumni of the Italian EUPATI Patient Academy and of the EURORDIS Summer and Winter School in rare diseases.
She is also the protagonist of the official EU Health video on how the European Reference Networks support patients.
Rosaria Talarico, MD, PhD, is a rheumatologist expert in rare and complex diseases and she has been working in the Rheumatology Unit of the Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Pisana since 2002. Dr. Talarico is a member of the ERN ReCONNET Team where she is directly involved both as expert rheumatologist and methodologist in all the ERN ReCONNET activities, especially those related to Clinical Practice Guidelines. Dr. Talarico is specialized in systemic autoimmune diseases, in particular Behcet’s disease and other vasculitis. Dr. Talarico is particularly interested in the field of quality of life, sexual health, Clinical Practice Guidelines, diagnostic and monitoring pathways and Clinical Trials for small population. Since 2009 she is member of the editorial staff of Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology.
